Fish Festival Fun Weekend

Vermilion's Festival of the Fish is one of the largest festivals in the area.  Every year the City of Vermilion celebrates the sea on a grand scale with parades, boat parades, races, pageants, contests, food, entertainment, markets and much more.  This is a "don't-miss" event of the year each Father's Day Weekend.  Food, entertainment, vendors and beverages each day begining at noon in Victory Park. On Friday dozens of pooches walk in the annual pet parade. On Saturday the Crazy Craft Races take place at 1 pm on the Vermilion River. The annual Lighted Boat Parade takes place at dusk on the Vermilion River. The Annual Father's Day Parade steps off at 12:30 pm on Sunday - you'll have front row seats from the Harbour Town Guesthouse porch.  Don't miss the wet and wild Firefighters Water Fight immediately following the parade. FOX 8's Woollybear Festival is the largest one day festival in the state of Ohio.  Fox 8 Meteorologist Dick Goddard wants you to be a part of the fun as the annual Woollybear Festival takes over Vermilion. Vermilion’s Woollybear Parade is one of the largest parades in the state of Ohio. It starts at 1:30 pm and lasts approximately 2 hours. Fine French cuisine is served at Chez François within walking distance to Harbour Town Bed & Breakfast. Chez François serves Haute Cuisine, meaning food that is prepared in an elegant or elaborate manner; the very finest food, prepared perfectly.  The French word haute translates as "high" or "superior."  Chez François sources their food from local artisan farms to nationally acclaimed purveyors. Chez François focuses on seasonal food items for their weekly specials that is fresh and in season.

Chez François has two wine lists, both award winning. Their regular wine list has over 300 wines listed and their Captain’s List has over 600 listed. Chez François focuses their lists on French and American wines but they also span the globe for outstanding wines.

Chez Francois is located in a National Historic Landmark building called The Sail loft Building nestled along the Vermilion River.  In 1840 the port of Vermilion was a shipyard where large sailing vessels were made. The name of the building is derived from the building's first commercial use, which was to make and store sails for these large vessels that sailed the Great Lakes. The original hand hewn beams and brick walls are still present today and add a rustic/romantic charm to the restaurant.  They also have a Riverfront Café that is casual but sophisticated and not as formal as the dining room.  The indoor dining room is formal with jackets requested for men.
