The Vermilion Lighthouse on Lake Erie, just steps from Harbour Town Guesthouse Bed & Breakfast, was originally built in 1847. It proudly stands in the front of the Great Lakes Historical Society on the shore of Lake Erie, in Vermilion, Ohio. The lighthouse is illuminated by a 200 watt incandescent light bulb with a 5th order Fresnel lens.

Just west of Vermilion, located along the sandy shore of Lake Erie, sits this family-friendly amusement park that is home to some of the tallest and fastest scream machines on the planet.

Cedar Point has been named the Best Amusement Park in the World for a record nine consecutive years. And with 69 rides, including 17 roller coasters; four huge kids areas; a gigantic waterpark (Soak City); four resort hotels; luxury RV campground including cottages and cabins; two large marinas; an entertainment complex (Challenge Park); award-winning live shows; gift shops; restaurants; and more, its easy to see why Cedar Point has been voted the best!

Cedar Point is a 364 acre (1.5 km²) amusement park located in Sandusky, Ohio, on a narrow peninsula jutting into Lake Erie. It is one of the world's largest amusement parks (by ride count) with 68 rides and currently holds the world record for most roller coasters with 17, one of them being the world's second tallest and second fastest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster. The park also has a mile-long white sand beach.

New for 2007 is the $21 million Maverick, a terrain-hugging coaster that boasts a 95-degree angle drop, eight airtime-filled hills, three inversions, and a second launch through a dark tunnel at speeds of 70 mph!

Cedar Point's normal operating season runs daily from early May through Labor Day, then for eight weekends following Labor Day. The park is scheduled to open for the 2007 season on Saturday, May 12.
